A Holistic Approach to Alternative Medicine
Think of me as a catalyst for attaining a healthier, pain-free life. Your health is more than just about how your body feels. It’s about how your body, mind, and spirit function together. That’s where a holistic approach can help.

More About Gracey Holistic Health in Boston, MA
Although acupuncture is becoming a more popular alternative treatment in the U.S. for pain, illnesses, and other health conditions, the practice has existed for thousands of years. Acupuncture originates from China and can be used to safely treat a variety of ailments on patients of all ages. It is based on the belief that the body contains pathways, or meridians, in which energy flows freely. When these meridians become blocked, so does the energy, resulting in imbalance and pain or discomfort. When acupuncture needles are inserted into the skin’s surface at specific areas, they help unblock the meridians and encourage the flow of energy again, restoring good health and bringing relief.
Does Acupuncture Hurt?
At Gracey Holistic Health, most of my patients report that they never feel the acupuncture needles as they’re inserted. That’s because they’re extremely thin–much thinner than a hypothermic needle–and they barely penetrate the skin. In fact, you can think of acupuncture as a combination of the words “acute” and “puncture.” During your treatments, you may experience a warming or cooling sensation which are the meridians becoming unblocked, allowing the flow of energy. Many of my clients find their treatments completely stress-free and soothing, and some even fall asleep!
For very young and old patients, and anyone especially apprehensive of needles, I do offer two methods of non-insertive Japanese acupuncture called Shakuju therapy and Toyo Hari. These techniques are particularly soothing and use painless tools to stimulate energy. No matter which form of acupuncture used, I never leave the room during a treatment session, so I can ensure every patient is completely comfortable.
What Can Acupuncture Treat?
Although some studies are on-going, acupuncture has been used to successfully treat everything from physical pain to menopause and even depression. I treat a variety of physical and emotional ailments, although I also believe in treating the individual as a whole person, not just the symptoms. I’ll work with you to develop a custom treatment plan so I can monitor your progress and keep you aligned with your health goals.
About Me
I opened my office as a way of giving back to others what I’d experienced for myself. As a long distance runner, I began to encounter leg and back pain that couldn’t be cured with traditional Western medicine. After consulting an acupuncturist and undergoing sessions for six months, I had regained my fully active life and went on to run four marathons! I knew then I had to study this ancient practice and I obtained a Masters degree in acupuncture from the New England Acupuncture School (NESA) of Watertown. I’m also one of only a few acupuncturists that are certified to administer non-insertive Japanese acupuncture. I have studied in both the U.S. and Japan with top practitioners and teach classes at NESA.
About Boston
Boston is the capital and largest city of the state of Massachusetts. It was founded in 1630, and played a key role in the American Revolution. Boston’s history is beautifully highlighted on its famous Freedom Trail. The Freedom Trail is a 2.5-mile walking path of historic sites that, together, tell the story of the nation’s early development. Faneuil Hall, a meeting house that was pivotal in our nation’s history, is one of the stops on the trail and is now a popular marketplace.
